To find the y-intercept of a rational function is easy. You have your equation which depending whether it has a hole or not will be simplified. If it has a hole you will have a simplified equation in which you will plug in 0 for x because for y-intercepts x=0. When you don't have holes you plug in 0 into the original equation for x. The answer given will be your y which together gives you the y-intercept.
