Unit G Concepts 1-7 Summary Question #4

4. What is the difference between a graph having a vertical asymptote and a graph having a hole?
There is a difference between a graph having a vertical asymptote and a graph having a hole. The difference has to do with the way it is plotted. Holes are plotted as open circles on the graphs. Vertical asymptotes are plotted as dotted lines at the points. These differences are what help distinguish between these two and also help when it comes to the graphing of rational functions.
