The domain of a rational function depends on the vertical asymptotes and the holes according to DIVAH. If we are trying to find the range one can assume we will be using what is not used for domain. That would mean that horizontal asymptotes and slant asymptotes will help us find the range. The range is the output value of the function. We would have to use this knowledge and graph the rational function to be able to see the range.
