Unit N Unit Circle Post

Over the past few days we have been studying the Unit Circle alongside degrees, radians, and quadrants. When we initially started the concepts 7-9 we first had to complete a worksheet that dealt with special triangles. Now special triangles are the 45-45-90 and the 30-60-90 triangles. Now they are featured below. As we can see they are labeled with x,y, and r. The x represents the adjacent side of the triangle while the the y represents the opposite side. The r represents the hypotenuse and also stands for the radius. We say radius because these triangles go accordingly with the unit circle. The r is always 1 meaning that the sides squared and added will give us our answer of 1. As shown the value of the x and y make up ordered pairs that match up with the ordered pairs on the Unit Circle. The special triangles allow us to figure out the ordered pairs that are shown on the Unit Circle.
